Thierry Henry... The Transfer Story Unfolds
Sunday, March 19, 2006
Thierry Henry has denied rumours that say he has 'verbally agreed' a deal with Barcelona. He wrote in his programme ahead of Arsenal's premiership clash against Charlton at Highbury, a game that Arsenal went on to win 3-0:
'There have been some more stories about my future in the papers this week,'
'The papers write what they want to write and I would just say this - there are no quotes from me in the story, no quotes from Barcelona, no quotes from anyone.
'If the papers want to speculate, they will speculate like they have done all season, but my position remains exactly the same.'
'Nothing has changed in the past couple of weeks.'
News Of The World have claimed that an Inter Milan insider has info that Arsenal have asked Inter to make a bid on Henry this summer if Thierry Henry decides to leave Arsenal.
The insider said that Inter had approached Arsenal and were told to return this summer. Truthfully, this[if true] doesnt surprise me, Arsenal are doing the smart thing because if Henry doesnt want to remain at Arsenal, why sell him to Barca, a club that thinks threatening us with the possibility of a £10million deal will get them Henry.
Inter have proven their interest and we know they have the money. News OF The World's insider also said Arsenal told Inter to return, 'if' Henry decides to leave This tells me that nobody is certain of Thierry's future at Arsenal.
