Revenge: Campo And Reyes
Sunday, February 12, 2006
Big Sam had insisted that Bolton will not seek revenge on Arsenal after a bad tackle from Abou Diaby on Ivan Campo left the ex-Real Madrid player with a broken foot.
As we saw yesterday, a bad challenge from Faye on our beloved Jose Antonio Reyes forced him to retire from the match with a....you guessed it, broken foot. Although it has not been confirmed that it is a broken foot, Reyes said that he felt something break when Faye made the tackle and Wenger said he 'feared' the worst. Some newspaper reports also indicate that it is a broken foot.
The injury to Reyes leaves Arsenal with only 3 fit strikers. Thierry Henry and Adebayor started the match against Bolton with Bergkamp coming on as a late substitute. Adebayor was far from impressive and could be replaced in the starting position by 16-year-old Theo Walcott against an aging Liverpool defence in our next match. Theo was kept out of our match against Bolton due to a shoulder injury, but is set to recover in time for the match.
