"It was the winter holiday and I was back in Togo having a kickabout with friends when my phone rang. One of the boys answered it and said, 'Manu, it's Arsene for you'. 'Arsene who?' I said. 'Arsene Wenger', he said. 'Get out of it', I said, and grabbed the phone off him. But then I heard the voice. 'Allo'. F*****g hell. It is Arsene Wenger!"

Villarreal Have Advantage Over Arsenal... Ferguson: We Trusted Our Young Players

Villarreal and Barcelona have managed to reschedule their La Liga clash at the Nou Camp 24 hours earlier[Friday] so they can have more time to prepare for thier Champions League tie against Arsenal and AC Milan respectively. Now, Arsenal could ask the English FA for the to help them too but it would actually make things worse for Arsenal's already hectic schedule.

Robert Pires is unhappy that he was dropped to the bench in Arsenal's 0-0 draw at Turin that resulted in the gunners making it to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals for the first time under Arsene Wenger. He was also disappointed that Wenger did not explain to him why he made the decision to drop the french 32-year-old. Most people see it as Freddie is more hardworking than Pires and also probably because eventhough Freddie is not a good defensive midfielder, he is still better at defending compared to Pires. Obviously in Turin Arsene knew that they needed to defend well against Juve in Turin, and Wenger opted for extra cover instead of a forward-runner. Pires said: “I would have liked to have had an explanation. I did not get one. It’s not for me to go into the office and ask why I am not playing. I reckon it’s for the manager to talk to you and enlighten you a little bit."

Alex Ferguson has warned Chelsea they will have more competition for the premiership title next season. While Chelsea were writing out multi-million dollar checks for players in pursuit of titles, Arsenal and Man Utd have been developing talent through their youth system. Arsenal and Man Utd have lost their influencial captains but Cesc Fabregas and Darren Fletcher have both helped theirt sides cope with the loss. "Next season could be really exciting as far as the league is concerned,' said Ferguson." said Ferguson. "You can see promise in both ourselves and Arsenal. We cannot have the same expenditure as Chelsea, so we have to do things in a different way." he added. "But both Arsene Wenger and myself are too experienced to let it get to us. We trusted our young players and now that confidence is being repaid."
