Henry Praises Highbury Fans For Vieira Reception
Thursday, March 30, 2006
Thierry Henry has praised the Arsenal fans at Highbury for giving former captain Patrick Vieira such a warm welcome on Tuesday.
Henry said: "I was happy with the reception Patrick had but sometimes you have good days and bad days.
"Patrick will always be one of the best players I have played with. But we had a good day and he had a bad day."
It was a mixed day for Patrick as Juventus were beaten by Arsenal 2-0. Former Liverpool legend Steve McMahon said that Arsenal needed a two goal lead going into the 2nd leg and that exactly what they got.
Pavel Nedved and the Italian press seem to agree that a miracle is the only thing that can save Juventus from elimination.
The Italian press blasted Juve and Vieira was not to be left out. Tuttosport, a Turin-based paper said: "In the end those at Highbury understood just what a good bit of business Wenger had done." The famous Gazzetta dello Sport said that the former 'pupil'[Fabregas], 'outclassed' Vieira.
