Manu Adebayor
Saturday, January 14, 2006
As suspected, Arsenal have signed Emmanuel Adebayor from As Monaco in an undisclosed fee. The player becomes Arsenal's second signing in 1 day. Arsene Wenger has been watching this player for a while now and finally brought the striker to England. Arsene says that Adebayor is a Kanu like player, whatever that means!
Arsene Wenger said:
"Emmanuel Adebayor is a great addition to our squad. He has shown in his performances with Monaco and Togo that he will add great quality to our offensive game. He is tall, good in the air and makes good runs. We are looking forward to him joining the squad when he returns from the African Nations Cup."Arsene had to rush the deal because he is in the Togolese(means he is from Togo) line-up that will be playing at The African Nations Cup in Egypt.
Adebayor is known as a in-the-box type striker that usually scores from inside the penalty box, adding a new dimention to our squad. He has played 18 matches for Monaco this season and scored 4 goals.
